Introductions...

Nearly one year ago on a lovely Fall afternoon, I officially became “The Keeper’s Wife.”
Keeper- (noun) pronounced Kee-per

There are many assortments as Keeper’s go. You’ve got your average every day Joe’s, like grounds-keepers and shop-keepers and the less common varieties such as bee-keepers and zoo-keepers. The hubs is none of the above but falls somewhere in between weighing in as a Goal Keeper!

Though I do admit that I might be a bit biased, he is an amazing goalie! So much so, that he has been sought after by quite a few local intramural leagues in our area. While he does have quite a few “Sports Center Moments” under his belt, he is by no means a Professional. He is none-the-less a “keeper”; and is legally bound to be my “keeper” for life at that!

As for the lady of the house, I stopped calling myself a “girl” at the ripe age of 25. That said, I will bite the bullet by starting off with this… I am a 32 year old woman of Italian descent. Picture, My Big Fat Greek Wedding - take out the Greek, add in Italian and if we’re being literal, maybe bring it down a notch to chunky vs. fat. (A few of us have been yo-yoing the same 15lbs for the past 5 years, but that’s a story for another time.) I grew up in the suburbs of Westchester, New York and now reside with both “The Keeper” and our pup in New England.

Professionally, I wear many hats. Officially I am employed as a Sr. Production Coordinator for a publically traded traveling circus. For the sake of anonymity, I will not reveal exactly where I work. Let’s just say… it’s NEVER boring!

Over time, my career has allowed me to see many places. I have gallivanted across the country as a roadie for somewhere between ten and eleven years now. To quote the highly acclaimed Mr. Jon Bon Jovi, “I’ve seen a million faces, and I’ve rocked them all.” Well, I guess that might be a bit overstated. I personally haven’t been the physical bona fide “rocker” doing the actual “rocking”, but I DO push some of the buttons that help to make the “rocking” happen. That’s got to count for something right?!?

Throughout my travels I’ve managed to visit 48 states across our great nation as well as 15 countries world wide while collecting both magnets and some great stories from each spot.

For the past year or so my traveling has tapered back quite a bit. I’ve traded in my Platinum airline status for more time at home, opting to work mostly out of my companies Corporate HQ while traveling out on location only one week per month vs. the weekly grind I’ve been used to for so long.

So after 10+ years of an exhilarating jet-setting lifestyle, why start blogging now? As it turns out, the boring "life at home" that I’d been avoiding for so long isn’t so dull after all!

The past year has brought on some unwelcomed life lessons that have been very hard to swallow, and some exceptionally beautiful snippets of goodness, so brilliant and unexpected that they have brought me to tears.

Throughout it all both the Keeper and I believe this statement to hold true, “La speranza e tutto.”
-“Hope is everything.”

That said, I hope this blog will serve as an outlet where I can share my thoughts and comments with my friends and family who are willing to listen. (and if I’m lucky enough, some strangers as well!) I look forward to your comments as I sound off and stand tall on my soap box from time to time to vent.

That’s all for now, I will be back to start sharing more soon….
